Brunch at Dishoom Bombay Cafe in Covent Garden

Last night, my classmate from the States, Sarah, and her friend Grace came in from King’s Cross Station for a few fun days in London! This morning, I decided to take them out to brunch to a highly recommended restaurant. And frankly, Dishoom Bombay Cafe is TOO AMAZING FOR WORDS!

Dishoom’s Breakfast Menu

Dishoom’s Bombay cuisine is surprisingly present in every single dish offered on the menu, creating a unique approach to many traditional English foods. I ordered the Full Bombay Breakfast for £7.90 which serves akuri (curried eggs), char-striped back bacon, Cumberland sausage, fire toast (toasted on open flame), and tomatoes grilled on the vine. By far, this was the most creative and delicious meal I ever stumbled upon in London!

Full Bombay Breakfast: A fun alternative to an English Breakfast. The sauce served with the meal is a wonderful sweet and spicy chutney

The grilled bacon on the fire toast was absolutely delicious! Both were charred to perfection and just tender enough to not require a knife.  To me, the eggs shares the same curry spices found in baingan bharta, which is my favorite Indian dish.  If you can’t tell by now, I REALLY liked this brunch and writing this post makes me want it more than ever!
